Conference and Function Facilities


Conference Centre

Timour Hall Villa provides a unique conference environment, full of "olde world" charm.  Our conference room is fully equiped with flip charts, whiteboards, digital projector, screen, TV and video machine and can seat 25 delegates in comfort.  We are also able to offer ample secure parking on-site.

Tea and coffee for delegates is available on request, at an extra cost per head.  Also, please note that we do not ordinarily supply meals for delegates.  All such catering arrangements must be made with the House Manager and is an additional cost per head.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS THAT WILL NOT BE DEVIATED FROM
  • Unless specifically arranged and agreed to in writing, your activities must be limited to the actual conference room.
  • Tea /  coffee / biscuits will be provided in the Sherry Room.
  • The guest house, including the kitchen and interior toilets are reserved for the exclusive use of guests in residence in the guest house.
  • Unless otherwise specified the toilets of the function hall, accessible via the North-Eastern entrance to the hall, must be used by attendees.
  • Parking is limited to the visitors parking area beyond the river.  The tarred area surrounding the villa and outbuildings is strictly reserved for the use of guests in residence and management.
  • For catering purposes the catering kitchen adjoining the function hall will be made available.  Meals will be served in the function hall.
  • The cut-off time for activities is 22:00 (10 pm).
  • The conference room will not be made available on Sundays or religious public holidays.
  • The villa is over two hundred years old and is a declared Provincial Heritage Site.  We are also prohibited in terms of our lease from doing or allowing anything to be done that MAY be a nuisance or inconvenience to our neighbours.  In view of this the following is NOT ALLOWED
    o       Dancing,
    o       Music, open-air bands or public address systems,
    o       Open flames inside the conference room,
    o       Decorating of any nature that involves drilling, nailing, tying on or gluing to the structure or any of 
             the fittings of the villa,
    o       Anything else that, in the opinion of the management, could be deemed unacceptable. 
  • No furniture may be removed from the conference room.
  • Additional items of furniture may only be introduced after negotiation with the manager.

Clients will be held responsible for leaving the conference room clean, tidy and in the condition that they find it.  Damages must be reported to management and made good.  We reserve the right to litigate.

 

Functions

Function Hall

** Please note the following with regards to Weddings and other functions.
          -
Our Hall can only seat 60 people.  We do not accept bookings for funtions with more than 60 guests.
 
Our beautiful Function Hall makes an elegant backdrop to any function.  Furnished with round tables and chairs, it can comfortably seat 60 people and has a separate catering kitchen as well as a ladies and gents toilet.  As a rule, we do not supply any linen, crockery, cutlery or glassware for functions.  We also do not allow meals to be cooked on-site.  The kitchen is for heating of food, preparing of sauces and plating up only.  Please make these arrangements with your caterer.

  • The function hall is the only venue for all functions.  This includes the back stoep and terrace adjacent to the hall itself.  
  • The kitchen adjoining the function hall is the only facility available for the use of caterers.
  • We are licensed to sell liquor and no other liquor may be brought onto the premises for sale or consumption.
  • The villa is out of bounds and is reserved for the use of paying guests in residence only.
  • Parking on the tarred area surrounding the villa is reserved for the exclusive use of guests in residence and management.
  • Caterers will be allowed to drive around to the rear of the villa for off-loading and loading purposes only.  Vehicles must be parked in the visitors parking.
  • All other participants in and guests of functions must use the parking area reserved for visitors.
  • In view of the fact that the villa is primarily a guest house, the cut-off time for functions will be 22:00 (10 pm).
  • NO functions will be allowed on Sundays or religious public holidays.

  • Additional items of furniture may only be introduced after negotiation with the manager.
  • No table-cloths, cutlery, crockery, glasses or any other property belonging to the villa can be made available to caterers.
  • Caterers will be held responsible for leaving the kitchen, equipment and fittings clean, tidy and in the condition they find it.  A returnable deposit of R500,00 will be required prior to giving them access to the kitchen.
  • Clients will be held responsible for leaving the function venue/s clean, tidy and in the condition that they find it.  Damages must be reported to management and made good.  We reserve the right to litigate.
  • We do not allow children under 18 years of age without prior arrangement with the management.  

Gardens, the river and wildlife on the property are off limits and must NOT be interfered with.  Parties failing to comply will be requested to leave the property
